Traditional black rebozo, embellished with feather art
Traditional black rebozo, embellished with feather art
This Purépecha ceremonial rebozo with articela fringe and pheasant feathers features fabric made from cotton, dyed with natural roots and flowers, on the back strap loom from Michoacán. Indigenous artisans labor for two months to make each rebozo. This hand woven fabric is of the most traditional type, and encapsulates the love and respect of the weaver. The feather art is made of real feathers and sewn one by one into the garment. Each item is hand made, and slight variations are normal and valuable.
Fabric is approximately 29" x 66" with 12" embellishment added to each end.
